NEW MUSIC WE LOVE: Liela Moss’ “Memories and Faces”

October 8, 2018 Albumism Staff

Artist: Liela Moss
Song: “Memories and Faces”
Album: My Name Is Safe In Your Mouth (due in stores November 9th)

A few months ago, Liela Moss delivered the first terrific taste of her forthcoming debut solo album My Name Is Safe In Your Mouth in the form of lead single “Wild As Fire,” and now she has unveiled its successor “Memories and Faces.” A sublime, symphonic sedative for the soul, “Memories and Faces” finds The Duke Spirit frontwoman embracing new sonic directions beyond the propulsive rock-pop arrangements we’ve come to know and love from her band.

“Musically the song is inspired by some of those crawling tempos of Mezzanine-era Massive Attack, whilst I was also chasing a particular kind of a sparse majesty like you hear in Emmylou Harris's Wrecking Ball,” Moss explains in an official statement.

Enjoy the Ren Rox directed video below and be sure to mark your calendars for November 9th, when My Name Is Safe In Your Mouth arrives in stores courtesy of Bella Union.
